Thai Herbal Compress Massage
The use of herbal heated compresses is a traditional Thai therapy which dates back to ancient times, when it was the secret healing technique of Buddhist monks, local herbal healers and midwives. Herbal Compress therapy was designed to relieve stress, pain and inflammation in arthritis and fibromyalgia. Thai Herbal Compress massage uses a combination of the heat, herbs and massage to heal and detoxify. To make the compress a selection of therapeutic herbs, which may include ginger, lemongrass and turmeric are wrapped in a muslin compress, steamed and then applied directly on the skin in gentle pressing, circular and rolling movements to soothe muscular aches and swelling. 30 minutes on the back costs £30. Please email the studio to book.
Chinese Cupping Therapy
It has been found that cupping brings fresh blood to the area and improves circulation and is widely used for aches and pains. A red circle may appear on the skin for 2-3 days afterwards. This is just the blood being drawn to the surface. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.
Cupping has also been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve the appearance of cellulite.
£20 for 30 minutes. £40 for 1 hour. Please email the studio to book.
